10 weekly sessions on Wednesdays 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm, starting 24 September

Explore astronomy from ancient beliefs to today’s latest exoplanet discoveries, space missions and Big Bang theory!  This course will both explain our scientific knowledge of the Universe and describe the wonder and beauty beyond our planet.  The class will learn to recognise the stars, constellations and planets we can see from our towns and countryside before moving outward through the Solar System to discover our neighbours in space.  By the end of the course the class will have investigated pulsars, black holes, galaxies and even considered if there is life on other worlds.  These classes are for anyone wanting a start in astronomy and the space sciences- no prior science or maths experience needed- and are delivered in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

This class will take place on QUB campus
