Established in 2017, the CCA has conducted over 30 excavations across all six counties in Northern Ireland and at sites including Cathedral Hill in Downpatrick, Nailor’s Row in Derry City, Woodvale Park on the Shankill Road, Moira Demesne, Boho Famine Road in County Fermanagh, and First World War training trenches at Magilligan and Ballykinler. CCA staff will be reflecting on the new information that these investigations have provided us with about life in the past, all with the help of local community volunteers and school groups.
