Autumn 2026

One-day workshop on Saturday 21 November, 10.00 am to 4.00 pm

The Expectation Effect is the scientifically grounded idea that what we expect to happen can change what actually happens. Our beliefs don’t just influence our mood, they shape how we think, how we perform, how we feel physically, and how we interpret the world around us. When we expect stress to help us, it often does; when we expect to be creative, ideas flow more freely; when we expect success, our behaviour shifts in ways that make it more likely. In this one-day course, participants learn how to harness the power of expectation intentionally, using practical tools from psychology, neuroscience, and behavioural science to create more helpful mindsets, boost performance, and support wellbeing.

This class will take place on QUB campus
