Holding space and listening with kindness and compassion is one of the greatest gifts we can offer to others and to ourselves. To listen with openness, curiosity and acceptance allows others to feel truly heard, felt and seen. In this short course we will learn valuable listening skills which we can use in our everyday lives to enrich our relationship and connection with ourselves and others. Drawing on the work of Gene Gendelin, Carl Rodgers and Ron Kurtz we will practise listening in dyads and small groups to each other. It is hoped in doing so we will discover the enlivening and transforming quality of being present to another and them to us. Participants will be given the opportunity to be paired together to practise compassionate listening between classes.
This class will take place on QUB campus
