New Year 2026

10 weekly sessions on Mondays 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm, starting 19 January

Leonardo has achieved a position of almost unique fame in Western art, known as a polymath with interests far beyond painting, including engineering, architecture, physiognomy, and more. We will examine his career in detail, setting famous masterpieces such as the 'Mona Lisa' and 'The Virgin of the Rocks' in their historical context and considering the circumstances of their production. We will use Leonardo's wonderful drawings to help understand the Renaissance mind in a fascinating period when boundaries between disciplines hardly existed.
