A history of World War One from the perspective of the Central Powers: Imperial Germany, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Ottoman Empire.Demonized as the countries that started the first global conflict, the apparent perspectives of these combatants was, and has been, the subject of propaganda, misinformation and misunderstanding.This course aims to broaden knowledge of the First World War by examining what motivated Germany and its allies to undertake such a disastrous action, and the campaigns which they fought to achieve those aims.It will present a different viewpoint to our traditional perception of the events of 1914-18.
